New Chapter Begins: EBCF Transforms Summerfield Centre into a Community-First Learning Hub

We’re proud to announce that EBCF has officially taken over the Summerfield Community Centre – now fully under our ownership following a successful Community Asset Transfer in July 2025.

Located in one of the most disadvantaged wards in the West Midlands, the centre is being revitalised with a clear purpose – to serve as a vibrant community hub for learning, development and opportunity.

The newly acquired space includes nine modern training rooms, three community halls, a gym, canteen, outdoor sports facilities, and dedicated advisor offices, along with a purpose-built warehousing training setup. This allows us to expand our reach and support learners across Ladywood, Sandwell and surrounding areas with high quality training in a welcoming, community-focused environment.

Shafayet Khan, Managing Director at EBCF, shared “Summerfield represents much more than bricks and mortar. It is a commitment to the people we serve. This new chapter allows us to offer even more inclusive, high-quality learning in a space that is truly rooted in the community.
