What We Do

What We Do

At EBCF, we are dedicated to supporting individuals from all walks of life to move closer to employment, improve their skills, and gain confidence. We deliver a wide range of fully funded adult education programmes through our Adult Education Budget (AEB) contract. These qualifications are designed to upskill learners and help them progress into work, further training, or self-employment. Our training includes both classroom and work-based learning, developed in collaboration with employers to meet real industry needs – from ESOL and Warehousing to Customer Service and Health and Social Care.

We are equally committed to guiding people on their career journey through our long-standing role as a delivery partner for the National Careers Service (NCS). Our qualified advisers provide one-to-one support, including career planning, CV development, and interview preparation. Every individual receives a tailored action plan, with clear goals and a route towards employment, training, or further education. Over the last five years, we’ve supported more than 30,000 people through our NCS provision.

Our Training Centres

Alum Rock Training Centre

Located at Alum Rock Road and previously known as the JET Shop, our head office is a state-of-the-art training facility. It features five large classrooms, private careers guidance rooms, a dedicated hair and beauty training studio, and modern IT equipment. The centre is designed to create a positive and professional environment for learners and staff, with excellent transport links serving the Hodge Hill area.

Summerfield Community Centre, Ladywood

Set in one of the most disadvantaged wards in the West Midlands, our Summerfield site includes nine training rooms, three community halls, a dance studio, gym, canteen, outdoor sports facilities, and dedicated advisor offices. As of July 2025, the centre is under full EBCF ownership, following a successful Community Asset Transfer. This location enables us to reach even more learners in Ladywood and surrounding communities.

Together, our centres offer:

  • 14 modern training rooms
  • Smart Boards and projectors
  • Over 100 learner PCs with AI integration
  • A six-station kitchen area for practical training
  • A sewing studio with 9 machines
  • x8 one-to-one advice rooms
  • Canteens and vending machines in both centres

These facilities support our vision of inclusive learning that meets community needs and delivers real, life-changing results.
