  • ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

    Candidates must be:

    • Aged 19+
    • A West Midlands resident
    • Must be earning less than £34,500 if employed or self-employed
    • Living in the UK for over 3 years, or have Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK
    • Individuals under the Ukrainian settlement or similar scheme are also eligible

    Purpose & Overview

    This qualification is designed for learners who want to develop their understanding of, and competency in, digital literacy skills. It will help learners progress to a work role where digital literacy skills are required.

    The qualification enables learners to apply digital skills in personal and business situations, maintain safety and security when using data and devices, find and use information, communicate socially and professionally using technology, and use word processing software to create straightforward documents.

    These units provide the core knowledge and practical skills required to work confidently and responsibly in digital environments, both personally and professionally.

    Optional units allow learners to tailor their qualification towards specific areas of digital skills development, whether building computer confidence, managing an online identity or preparing for digital career progression

    Progression Opportunities

    On completion, learners may progress to:

    • Level 2 Certificate in Digital Skills for Work
    • Level 2 Award/Certificate in Digital Promotion for Business
    • Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ITQ)
    • Employment in roles requiring foundational digital literacy across any sector

    Delivery and Assessment

    You’ll learn through a mix of practical computer based activities and real world digital tasks to build your digital skills for everyday life and work.

    You’ll complete assessments and build a portfolio of evidence to show your knowledge and ability.

    Tasks are designed to be engaging and supportive, with ongoing assessment from your tutor throughout the course.

    There are no formal exams. Your progress is assessed through your coursework and practical activities.
